Melick Award Eligibility Criteria

The Board of Directors welcomes nominations for the annual presentation of the Melick Award at Town Meeting in May. Nominees may be a person of any age who has unselfishly helped friends, neighbors, or strangers, and who has consistently contributed as a volunteer in our community. They should be considered an inspiration to others.

 Nominees should be, or have recently been, a resident of Needham. They should have offered their volunteer services over a substantial period of time and the volunteer work should be beyond what was performed as part of paid employment. Nominees should have performed civic deeds in an exemplary manner outside of a career in politics.

Any citizen of Needham is invited to submit a nomination to the Richard Patton Melick Foundation, P.O. Box 920101, Needham, MA 02492 or by email to president@melickfoundation.com

Supporting information, including name and phone number, plus the names of two other people who know the candidate, should accompany the nomination. I
